Data we collect

Your first name, email address (confirmed with a code sent by email), phone number if provided (optional, not verified), password (stored only as an irreversible hash) and the data you enter: vehicles, mileage, fuel, services and amounts. If you sign in with Google or Facebook, we receive your name, email and an identifier from them, but never your password with them.

Why

Only to run your account, sync your data across devices and manage your subscription. We do not sell your data and the app has no advertising.

Photos

When you use "Add by photo" or "Read the odometer", the photo is sent to our server and then to an artificial-intelligence provider (OpenAI) to extract the vehicle information. Mecavya does not store the photo; its processing by the provider is subject to the provider terms. Do not send photos showing other people or information you do not want to share.

Retention and deletion

Your data is kept while your account exists. You can delete your account at any time from the Account screen: the account and all associated data are then permanently deleted.
